Calcutta High Court To Consider Independent Probe Into South Calcutta Law College Gang-Rape Case

The Calcutta High Court stated that once formal complaints are filed, they will be considered for an independent investigation into the alleged gang rape of a first-year law student at South Calcutta Law College.

Several advocates mentioned the matter urgently before a division bench, which directed them to file a petition and serve notice to the respondents.

The student was allegedly raped on June 25 inside the security guard room of the college. Her medical examination supported her allegations.

Police arrested four accused, including Manojit Mishra, allegedly linked to the Trinamool Congress youth wing. They were remanded to police custody on June 27.
