CAPF Personnel Who Exceeded 60 Years Before Jan 31, 2019 Not Eligible for Enhanced Benefits: Delhi High Court
The Delhi High Court held that CAPF personnel who had already crossed the age of 60 years before January 31, 2019 are not entitled to enhanced retirement benefits arising from subsequent policy changes.
The Court noted that the benefits were intended for those who had not crossed the age threshold as on the cut-off date.
It relied on earlier rulings and government decisions that extended benefits only to eligible personnel within the prescribed limits.
Accordingly, the Court rejected claims of those who had already exceeded the age limit, clarifying that retrospective extension cannot apply beyond the defined eligibility criteria.
