CBI Opposes Arvind Kejriwal’s Recusal Plea Against Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma

The CBI filed submissions opposing former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s plea for Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma’s recusal in the excise policy case.

Kejriwal argued for recusal because the judge’s children are on the Central government's panel. The CBI contended that this logic would disqualify almost all judges with relatives in government service, setting a "very wrong precedent."

The agency further alleged that an orchestrated social media campaign was being used to browbeat the judiciary.

Clarifying that the judge's children had no involvement in the case and that attending public seminars does not indicate ideological bias.
