CBSE Announces Strict Penalties for Exam Malpractice: Two-Year Ban for Rule Violations

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced stringent measures for the 2025 Class X and XII board exams to prevent malpractice.

Students caught cheating, using electronic devices, or possessing unauthorised materials will face exam cancellation and a two-year ban. Impersonation, violence, or sharing exam-related content on social media could lead to a three-year ban.

CBSE has also specified a dress code, a list of permitted and barred items, and strict monitoring of communication devices.

The new rules aim to ensure a fair examination process for over 44 lakh students appearing in the exams.
