The Competition Commission of India (CCI) dismissed a complaint against Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) alleging abuse of dominance by stating that the issues were contractual and outside the purview of the Competition Act.
The Kerala-based complainant claimed HMSI coerced him into terminating a Suzuki dealership, forced him to stock unpopular models and abruptly ended the dealership agreement in 2024.
CCI found the allegations insufficient to establish abuse under Section 4 of the Act, noting the termination followed contractual terms, including prior warnings.
The case was closed under Section 26(2) as no prima facie evidence of anti-competitive conduct was established.
