CCI Rejects ADIF’s Complaint Alleging Abuse of Dominance by Google Ads Policies

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has rejected a complaint filed by the Alliance of Digital India Foundation (ADIF) accusing Google of abusing its dominant position through its Google Ads policies.

Invoking Section 26(2A) of the Competition Act, the CCI held that the issues raised were substantially the same as those decided in previous orders and did not warrant a fresh inquiry.

The Commission referred to its findings in the Matrimony.com and Vishal Gupta cases, observing that Google’s ad policies promote consumer safety and enhanced user choice. Accordingly, the complaint was closed without further investigation.
