CCPA Expands Probe into Ola Electric Amid Consumer Complaints

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has intensified its investigation into Ola Electric Mobility Limited, citing alleged consumer rights violations, misleading advertisements, and unfair trade practices. 

A show-cause notice issued in October 2024 highlighted concerns over the quality of Ola's EVs and insufficient after-sales support, prompting over 10,000 consumer complaints

Recently, Ola Electric received additional document requests from the CCPA to advance the inquiry. 

The Karnataka High Court granted the company a six-week extension to respond (read more here), while Ola assured stakeholders that the probe has not impacted its financial or operational stability, emphasizing its commitment to compliance.
