The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ₹2 lakh on FirstCry for engaging in misleading advertisements and unfair trade practices.
The regulatory body found the e-commerce platform guilty of making false claims about product discounts and features, which misled consumers.
The court underscores the CCPA's commitment to enforcing consumer rights and ensuring transparent business practices in the digital marketplace.
Following CCPA's intervention, the company has rectified its platform to provide more transparency in the display of prices across the company's website and mobile application, the statement said.
