The Madras High Court is hearing a petition against the cancellation of a ground handling agreement at Chennai Airport following the withdrawal of security clearance by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The petitioner sought protection under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, citing massive investments and alleging unfair treatment.
The court recorded the undertaking from AAI and BCAS that no third party will use the petitioner’s equipment, and any new tenders will depend on the final verdict. The matter will be heard next on 7th July 2025.
