Centre Notifies Justice Soumen Sen as Chief Justice of Kerala High Court

The Central Government has issued a notification appointing Justice Soumen Sen as the next Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, effective when he assumes office after the retirement of the incumbent Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar on January 9, 2026.

Justice Sen was the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, having taken oath on October 8, 2025, following his appointment on September 26, 2025.

The Supreme Court Collegium on 18 December 2025 recommended his transfer to the Kerala High Court as Chief Justice.
