Chandigarh Court Reserves Verdict in Justice Nirmala Yadav 'Cash at Judge's Door' Case After 17 Years

A Chandigarh court has reserved its verdict for March 29 in the 2008 'Cash-at-Door' case involving former Justices Nirmal Yadav and Nirmaljit Kaur.

The case began when a bag containing ₹15 lakh was mistakenly delivered to Justice Kaur’s residence instead of Justice Yadav’s due to their similar names. Justice Kaur reported the incident, leading to an investigation.

Investigation revealed that the money was allegedly intended as a bribe for Justice Yadav to influence a property deal.

Justice Yadav was transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court in 2010 and retired in 2011. The final arguments concluded on March 27. The court will announce its verdict soon.
