Chandigarh Lawyer Booked for Allegedly Cheating of ₹3 Lakh Over Fake Consumer Case

Chandigarh Police have registered an FIR against advocate Pankaj Chandgothia for allegedly defrauding a Punjab resident of nearly ₹3 lakh.

Gurwinder Singh Walia claimed he paid Chandgothia to file a consumer court case after discovering defects in his new Jimny car.

The FIR was lodged on July 13 under Section 420 IPC for cheating. Chandgothia has denied the allegations, stating he never received any cash and has already submitted his statement to the police.
