CJI Forms 3-Member Panel to Probe Justice Yashwant Varma in Cash-At-Home Case

Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna has constituted a 3-member committee to investigate allegations against Justice Yashwant Varma of the Delhi High Court under the in-house procedure.

The panel includes Justice Sheel Nagu (Punjab & Haryana HC), Justice GS Sandhawalia (Himachal Pradesh HC), and Justice Anu Sivaraman (Karnataka HC).

The Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay's report on the alleged discovery of unaccounted cash at Justice Varma’s residence led to this action.

Justice Varma has denied the allegations, stating that neither he nor his family placed any cash in the storeroom where the fire occurred. He described the claims as a conspiracy to malign him.
