Supreme Court Slams Punjab Over Drug Menace, Says ‘Big Sharks’ Still Untouched

The Supreme Court has slammed Punjab authorities for failing to dismantle large-scale drug syndicates.

Chief Justice Surya Kant described the state's condition as "terrible," noting that police often arrest small-level peddlers for publicity while "bigger sharks" and influential figures remain untouched.

The Bench suggested a central statutory mechanism to coordinate state agencies and destroy deep-rooted mafias operating across borders.
