CJI Surya Kant Warns of Legal Action Over Fake Casteist Quote on X

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant has issued a stern warning against the perpetrators of a viral social media post that falsely attributed a casteist remark to him.

The fabricated quote, shared by the X account @UnreservedMERIT, suggested that if a community continues to view itself as oppressed despite holding high offices, the fault lies with their mindset rather than others.

CJI Kant categorically denied the statement, describing it as baseless and fraudulent.

Emphasizing that the quote does not reflect his views or character, the Chief Justice stated he is prepared to "bring the full might of the law" to ensure those responsible face consequences for their mendacity.
