Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai will conduct court hearings during the Supreme Court's summer vacation from May 26 to June 1, 2025.
Historically, senior judges, including the CJI, refrained from holding court sessions during this period. This year, the Court has designated the vacation as "partial court working days," with 21 benches scheduled to operate between May 26 and July 13, 2025.
The number of vacation benches has increased from the usual two or three to up to five in certain weeks.
The Supreme Court Registry will remain open from 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days, excluding Saturdays (except July 12), Sundays, and other holidays.
