At a farewell event hosted by the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association, the outgoing Chief Justice emphasized the importance of concise and clear petition drafting, noting that “less is more” and that well-crafted petitions simplify judicial work. Around 70–80% of cases, he said, are decided on facts rather than broad constitutional principles, making factual clarity crucial.
Advocates-on-record were encouraged to present arguments themselves instead of relying solely on senior advocates. The need for experienced lawyers to mentor juniors in the profession was also stressed.
Mediation was promoted as an efficient alternative to litigation, with special mention of the growing success of online mediation training courses in streamlining dispute resolution.
