SC Collegium Recommends Transfer of 7 High Court Judges, cites need to infuse diversity

The Supreme Court Collegium, in meetings held on April 15 and 19, 2025, recommended the transfer of seven High Court judges under Article 222 of the Constitution to enhance judicial administration and promote diversity across High Courts.

The proposed transfers include Justices Hemant Chandangoudar, Krishnan Natarajan, N.S. Sanjay Gowda, and Dixit Krishna Shripad from the Karnataka High Court to the Madras, Kerala, Gujarat, and Orissa HCs respectively.

Justices Perugu Sree Sudha and Kasoju Surendhar from Telangana HC are recommended for transfer to Karnataka and Madras HCs, while Justice Dr. Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao from Andhra Pradesh HC is proposed to be shifted to Karnataka HC.
