Making Allegations Of Extra-Marital Affair In Complaints To Spouse's Employer Is 'Cruelty': Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court upheld a family court’s order dissolving a marriage, holding that the wife’s derogatory complaints to the husband’s employer amounted to cruelty.

A division bench of Justices Navin Chawla and Renu Bhatnagar said marriage requires mutual respect, and both parties must adjust with each other.

The wife cited Raj Talreja v. Kavita Talreja (2017), claiming her complaints were a “cry for help” due to police inaction and the husband’s neglect.

However, the Court found no justification and dismissed her appeal, refusing to interfere with the divorce granted on cruelty grounds.
