Bengaluru Court Convicts Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni, 15 Others in 2016 BJP Leader Murder Case

A special court in Bengaluru has convicted Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and 15 others for the 2016 murder of BJP leader Yogesh Gowda.

The Court found the accused guilty of criminal conspiracy, murder, rioting, and destruction of evidence. Gowda, a Dharwad Zila Panchayat member, was killed at his gym on June 15, 2016.

The CBI, which investigated the case, established that Kulkarni and his associates conspired to eliminate the BJP leader.

While Kulkarni was convicted for conspiracy and murder, he was acquitted of charges under the Arms Act. Sentencing is scheduled for April 16, 2026.
