Alappuzha Consumer Commission Orders Free Replacement of iPhone 13 Battery for Manufacturing Defect

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Alappuzha, partly allowed a complaint against Apple, holding it liable for a deficiency in service arising from a manufacturing defect in the iPhone 13 battery.

The Commission found that the battery defect affected the normal functioning of the device within the warranty period.

Holding Apple responsible, the Court directed the company to replace the defective battery free of cost and provide a fresh six-month warranty on the replaced battery.

The order was passed after finding merit in the consumer’s grievance regarding product quality.
