The Punjab and Haryana High Court ruled in favor of Krishna Nandan Mishra, a former soldier in the Defence Security Corps (DSC), regarding his denied disability pension.
Mishra was discharged in 2007 after being diagnosed with coronary artery disease, assessed at 30% disability. His claims for a pension were rejected by military authorities and the Armed Forces Tribunal, citing no service connection.
The HC referenced Section 9 of the Armed Forces Tribunal Act, and Dharamvir Singh case quashing the Tribunal's decision and directing the government to process Mishra's pension claim within three months, presuming health issues in service are duty-related.
