Dabur has filed a lawsuit against Patanjali in the Delhi High Court, claiming that Patanjali's advertisement disparages its Chyawanprash products by suggesting they are not authentic.
This lawsuit follows ongoing competition between the two companies, including a previous case in 2017. The ad features Baba Ramdev, suggesting that competitors lack the Ayurvedic knowledge to produce genuine Chyawanprash.
Dabur cites the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, arguing that misleading claims harm its reputation. Initially, the court considered mediation but decided to proceed with hearings after Dabur sought urgent relief. A hearing is set for January 2025.
