The President of the All Kerala Men’s Association has approached the Kerala High Court seeking an independent investigation into the suicide of Deepak, who was accused of sexual harassment in a viral bus video.
The plea alleges that the unverified circulation of the video led to public humiliation and character assassination, ultimately resulting in Deepak’s death.
It claims lapses by the local police in preserving digital evidence and arresting the accused in time, violating the right to a fair investigation under Article 21. The petitioner seeks transfer of the probe to an independent agency and action against those who circulated the video.
The matter is listed for February 10.
