A Delhi court has closed the 2019 corruption case against AAP leader Satyendar Jain after the CBI found no evidence of wrongdoing.
The case was based on a complaint from the Delhi government's vigilance wing, alleging irregularities in hiring 17 PWD consultants under Jain’s tenure as minister.
The CBI, after a four-year probe, concluded that the hiring was transparent, competitive, and driven by departmental needs.
The court accepted the closure report, stating suspicion cannot substitute proof, and no material suggested criminal conspiracy or illegal gain.
The CBI retains the liberty to reopen the case if fresh evidence emerges in the future.
