Delhi Court Directs Indian Bank to Release ₹77,000 Frozen in Cyber Fraud Victim’s Pension Account
A Delhi court recently directed Indian Bank to release ₹77,000 that had been frozen in the pension account of a cyber fraud victim.
The amount was blocked during investigation into an alleged online fraud transaction, causing hardship to the pensioner who depended on the funds for daily expenses.
The Court observed that innocent account holders should not be indefinitely deprived of access to their money without proper justification.
Taking note of the petitioner’s financial difficulties and lack of involvement in the alleged fraud, the Court ordered the bank to restore access to the frozen amount in the pension account.
