A Delhi court granted anticipatory bail to film producer Kumar Mangat Pathak in a cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy case over the Chinese distribution rights of Drishyam 2.
Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Pratap Singh Laler noted that ₹75 lakh was not paid to Pathak personally and his custodial interrogation was unnecessary.
Businessman Rajinder Kumar Goel had alleged being duped of ₹4.3 crore through forged documents by intermediary Bharat Sevak, with part of the funds sent to Panorama Studios.
Pathak maintained the payment was for another film and denied involvement. The court directed him to cooperate with the investigation.
