Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court issued notices to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, citing their right to be heard before taking cognizance of the ED’s chargesheet.
The ED alleges that Young Indian Pvt Ltd, partly owned by the Gandhis, acquired Associated Journals Ltd.’s ₹5,000 crore assets for ₹50 lakh, constituting fund misappropriation and money laundering. The court action follows the ED’s April 9 chargesheet under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Congress has dismissed the allegations as politically motivated. The matter is listed for hearing on May 8.
