Delhi Court Orders Investigation into Defamation Case Against Times-Now Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar

The Delhi Court directed the police to investigate a defamation case filed by Arnab Goswami’s company, ARG Outlier Media, against Times Now Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar. 

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACJM) Siddhant Sihag invoked Section 202 CrPC and Section 225 BNSS, 2023, to order a preliminary inquiry, as Kumar resides outside the court’s jurisdiction. 

The complaint relates to Kumar’s remarks during a 2020 broadcast alleging defamatory statements against Goswami concerning the TRP manipulation scam. 

The Court set the next hearing for February 26, 2026. This case follows other FIRs against Kumar linked to the Nupur Sharma remarks controversy.
