Delhi Court Questions Police Inaction on Allegations Against Kapil Mishra in 2020 Riots Case

A Delhi court has questioned the police for either failing to investigate or covering up allegations against BJP leader Kapil Mishra in the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots.

Judicial Magistrate Udbhav Kumar Jain directed complainant Mohd. Wasim to approach the MP/MLA Court for registering an FIR against Mishra.

Wasim alleged that Mishra led an unlawful assembly and fired gunshots, while police forced detainees to chant slogans.

The court ordered an FIR against the SHO under Sections 295A, 323, 342, and 506 IPC, emphasizing the importance of communal harmony and responsible speech.
