Delhi Court Seeks Sonia Gandhi’s Response on Plea Alleging Pre-Citizenship Voter Roll Entry

A Delhi court has issued notices to Sonia Gandhi and the Delhi Police on a plea challenging the refusal to register an FIR over her alleged inclusion in the 1980 voter roll before she became an Indian citizen in 1983. 

The petitioner claims this indicates possible forgery of documents. 

The Magistrate had earlier dismissed the plea, holding that citizenship and voter roll issues fall under the Centre and the Election Commission. 

The criminal revision is now set for hearing on January 6, 2026, with the court seeking responses before proceeding.
