A Delhi court has set aside an ex parte interim order that had restrained journalists from publishing any stories against Adani Enterprises.
The court held that the prior injunction was overly broad and unsustainable, noting that it effectively imposed a prior restraint on journalism without a full hearing.
The order came in a defamation suit filed by Adani, which claimed that the reports were malicious. The court emphasised the importance of free speech and the need for a balanced approach in granting pre-publication injunctions, directing the matter to proceed to trial.
