The Delhi High Court allowed the owner of Rau's IAS Coaching Centre to obtain photocopies of certain financial documents seized by the CBI.
The case followed the July 2024 incident in which three students died after rainwater flooded the institute's basement.
The court dismissed the objection raised by the victim's father, holding that the documents were unrelated to the core investigation.
Citing Section 230 of BNSS, the court held there's no prohibition against supplying such documents to the accused, especially when they were not a part of the prosecution's case.
The CBI did not object to the owner's request, stating that providing photocopies would not hinder the investigation.
