Delhi HC Bar Flags Concerns Over Frequent Judge Transfers, Seeks Transparency

The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) wrote to the Chief Justice of India and collegium judges, expressing concern over frequent judge transfers in the Delhi High Court, urging greater transparency and consultation in appointments and transfers.

The DHCBA emphasised that the Bar, as an equal stakeholder, is often excluded from crucial decisions, causing unease among members. It highlighted the value of judicial continuity and judges familiar with Delhi's legal context.

The Bar fears overlooked local lawyers and a widening gap between judges and litigants, risking morale and faith erosion.

CJI BR Gavai met the DHCBA president to discuss these concerns.
