Delhi High Court Grants Injunction to Protect Reliance Retail’s “Tira” Trademark from Online Scams

The Delhi High Court issued an ex parte ad interim injunction restraining individuals and entities from using Reliance Retail Ltd.’s “Tira” trademark. 

Launched in April 2023, Tira has built substantial goodwill in beauty and personal care products.

In May 2025, scammers impersonated Tira agents via WhatsApp and phone calls, leveraging fake IDs and offers, causing over 8,900 consumer complaints, including 666 in Delhi, and losses exceeding ₹41 lakhs.

The court directed telecom providers, WhatsApp, NPCI, and MeitY to block imposter accounts, disconnect UPI IDs/QR codes, and disclose subscriber information. The next hearing is scheduled for November  6, 2025. (RRL v Ashok Kumar)
