Delhi High Court Restrains Local Dhabas from Using 'Mannat Dhaba' Trademark

  • Case Name: Mannat Group of Hotels v. Mannat Dhaba

The Delhi High Court has permanently restrained dhabas on the Delhi-Dehradun highway from using the registered trademarks of Murthal's Mannat Dhaba.

Justice Amit Bansal ruled in favor of Mannat Group of Hotels, stating that local eateries were wrongfully benefiting from its goodwill and trademark 'MANNAT'.

The Court found a clear case of trademark infringement and passing off, as the defendants had deliberately copied the branding with minor variations.

A previous ex parte injunction was made permanent, protecting Mannat's statutory and proprietary rights against unauthorized use.
