Delhi High Court Grants Injunction Against Piracy of FanCode Sports Broadcasts

The Delhi High Court has restrained rogue websites and apps from streaming sports content exclusively licensed to the Sporta Technologies FanCode platform, granting a dynamic injunction under Section 37 of the Copyright Act, 1957.

The order, protecting FanCode’s broadcast and trademark rights, directs domain registrars to suspend infringing domains and disclose subscriber data, and mandates DoT, MeitY, and ISPs to block access within 36 hours.

The covered events include Formula One, UEFA, MLB, MotoGP, and Hockey India.

Piracy during live telecasts was found to cause severe revenue loss. FanCode can directly flag new infringing sites for blocking within 24 hours. The hearing continues on January 19, 2026.
