The Delhi High Court addressed a PIL on March 19, 2025, by the Ocular Trauma Society of India regarding ocular injuries from firecracker misuse.
A division bench directed the petitioner, Ocular Trauma Society of India, to expand the scope of its PIL beyond eye injuries to include all health risks, including bodily harm and effects on pets and animals.
The court urged advocate Rahul Bajaj to amend the PIL’s prayer clause to encompass broader safety guidelines for firecracker misuse.
The petitioner was given two weeks to file an amended plea, with the next hearing set for April 9.
