Delhi High Court Declines Urgent Hearing on Plea Highlighting 807 Missing Persons

The Delhi High Court declined to accord urgent listing to a plea raising concerns over the disappearance of 807 persons from Delhi during the first 15 days of 2026.

The public interest litigation was mentioned before the Court based on media reports indicating a sharp increase in missing persons cases in the national capital.

The petitioner’s counsel pressed for immediate listing, and sought an early hearing.

The Court stated that the matter would be auto-listed in the normal course and observed that the Delhi Police are already obligated under law to take necessary steps.
