Delhi HC Decrees Castrol Ltd's Trademark Infringement Suit Against Engine Oil Manufacturers

The Delhi High Court granted permanent injunction in favor of Castrol Limited, a company that makes automobile lubricants, in a case against trademark and trade dress/package infringement by Kapil Auto Workshop and Makkvoll Lubricants. 

The defendants were found guilty of selling engine oils and lubricants with packaging similar to Castrol's, using the same green and white colors and copying Castrol's 'ACTIV' and 'ACTIBOND' brands. 

The court ordered them to stop selling the products and fined each defendant ₹10 lakh to be paid to Castrol with six months, and granted liberty to Castrol to visit the premises and destroy the counterfeit goods at one defendant's premises.
