Delhi High Court Denies Bail to Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam in 2020 Riots Case

The Delhi High Court denied bail to activists Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, and seven others in a UAPA case related to the February 2020 riots.

The bench of Justices Navin Chawla and Shalinder Kaur dismissed their bail pleas, which challenged a trial court order rejecting bail.

The accused, booked as masterminds behind the violence that killed 53 and injured over 700, contested their involvement.
