Delhi High Court Orders NDMC to Stop Unauthorized Construction in Sarojini Nagar Market

The Delhi High Court has directed the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to immediately stop all unauthorized construction and encroachments in Sarojini Nagar Market.

Justice Mini Pushkarna issued notice on a plea filed by Sarojini Nagar Market Rehari Patri Howkers Vikas Samiti seeking removal of illegal structures and misuse of units violating the approved layout plan.

The NDMC stated that a detailed survey is underway as part of the market’s redevelopment and will conclude in 10–12 weeks.

The Court directed NDMC to file a fresh affidavit on the extent of encroachments.
