Delhi High Court Directs Urgent Action on Security of District Court Judges

The Delhi High Court directed the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi Government, and Delhi Police to urgently address the security concerns of district court judges.

Hearing a plea by the Judicial Service Association, the Court noted incidents of threats, stalking, and vulnerability faced by judicial officers, including a reported threat to a woman judge.

Justice Manoj Jain emphasised that the seriousness of the issue cannot be undermined and ordered a joint meeting of senior officials within a week, with a status report to be filed thereafter.

The Court also sought details of existing representations and security measures adopted in other states.
