The Delhi High Court, comprising Justices Navin Chawla and Madhu Jain, imposed a cost of ₹20,000 on the Union of India for suppressing material facts in a case concerning the promotion of IRS officer Sameer Dnyandev Wankhede.
The Court noted that the CAT order had been passed before the Centre filed its review petition, yet the same was not disclosed.
The Court observed that material particulars had been suppressed during the proceedings and further directed that the cost be remitted to Wankhede’s Advocate-on-Record, underscoring the government’s duty of full and fair disclosure in service-related litigation.
