The Delhi High Court granted Delhi University time to place its objections on record in appeals seeking disclosure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree information.
The appeals challenge an August 2025 ruling that set aside a Central Information Commission direction requiring disclosure of the Prime Minister’s academic records.
Representing DU, the Solicitor General argued that the appeals were filed only to sensationalise the issue. He requested time to respond to both the delay in filing and the merits, while opposing the issuance of notice. Counsel for the appellants submitted that the delay was negligible and could be condoned.
The Court allowed DU three weeks to file its response and listed the matter for further hearing on April 27.
