Delhi High Court Grants Permanent Injunction Against Owners from Infringing Louis Vuitton Trade Mark

  • Case Name: LV Malletier V Raj Belts & Ors.

The Delhi High Court permanently banned shop owners in Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh, from selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton wallets, handbags, and belts.

The Court found they were misusing the brand’s goodwill and upheld Louis Vuitton’s rights over trademarks like the "LV" logo, Toile Monogram, Damier pattern, and LV Flower patterns.

The company argued that these sellers were misleading customers for profit. The defendants did not respond to the lawsuit, leading to a summary judgment.

The Court imposed fines of ₹20,000 and ₹22,000 on the shop owners, reaffirming Louis Vuitton’s exclusive rights and well-known trademark status.
