The Delhi High Court has granted interim relief to PhonePe in its trademark dispute with AGF Finlease India, restraining the latter from using the "PhonePey Loan" mark.
PhonePe claimed that AGF Finlease's use of a similar mark was deceptive, likely to mislead consumers into believing the services were affiliated with PhonePe.
The Court held that the marks were prima facie infringing and issued an injunction, ordering the removal of infringing content from websites and social media platforms.
Justice Pushkarna emphasized the potential for consumer confusion and the need to protect trademark rights. The case is set for further hearing.
