Delhi HC Grants John Doe Protection To Podcaster Raj Shamani Against Unauthorized Use of Personality Rights

The Delhi High Court passed a John Doe order safeguarding the personality rights of content creator Raj Shamani, recognising his reputation and goodwill in India.

Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora held that Shamani’s name, image, voice, likeness, and his copyrighted podcast content form integral parts of his protected persona.

The Court restrained unidentified individuals, online platforms, a YouTube channel, and a company from using his identity or trademarks, including through AI-generated or deepfake content, without permission.

The matter is listed for further hearing on April 24, 2026.
