The Delhi High Court restrained the operators of “American Dream11” from using the “Dream11” trademark in India and directed them to remove all social media pages, profiles, and online content bearing the mark or its variants.
Dream11 contended that the offshore platform deceived Indian users by implying they could participate in pay-to-play fantasy gaming, thereby attempting to bypass Indian restrictions.
The defendants consented to block access to their services within India. Observing that the mark’s unauthorised use could cause consumer confusion and dilute brand goodwill.
The Court referred the dispute to mediation and scheduled the matter for further hearing on December 18.
