The Delhi High Court held Hockey India and its Secretary General, Bhola Nath Singh, guilty of contempt for willfully disobeying judicial orders.
The Court previously directed the federation to provide meeting links to Vice President Syeed Asima Ali to ensure her participation in executive board meetings.
However, the respondents failed to comply, later arguing that Ali had become ineligible due to the withdrawal of recognition of her parent club. The Court rejected this defense, labeling the disobedience an "administrative sin" and dismissing their unconditional apologies as insufficient.
The Bench emphasized that authorities cannot reinterpret or dilute court directions.
